Connect Stripe

Accept cards and wallets in your own Stripe account, via Stripe Connect OAuth or your own API keys.

Stripe payments go directly to your own Stripe account. Storelancer never holds your funds and does not add a transaction fee — Stripe charges its processing fees under your agreement with Stripe.

Option 1 — Connect with Stripe (OAuth)

If the platform operator has configured Stripe Connect, you'll see a “Connect with Stripe” button under Settings → Payments.

  1. Click “Connect with Stripe” and sign in to Stripe (or create an account).
  2. Approve the connection. You're returned to your dashboard and the connection is verified with Stripe.
  3. Turn the provider on for checkout when you're ready.

Webhooks are handled by the platform's Connect endpoint, so there's nothing else to configure. You can disconnect at any time from your Stripe dashboard or ours.

Option 2 — Use your own API keys

  1. In your Stripe dashboard, open Developers → API keys and create a restricted or secret key.
  2. In Storelancer, go to Settings → Payments → Stripe → “Use API keys” and paste the key. Keys are encrypted at rest and never shown again in full.
  3. Copy the webhook URL shown on the connection page.
  4. In Stripe, go to Developers → Webhooks → Add endpoint, paste the URL and select the events listed below.
  5. Copy the endpoint's signing secret (whsec_…) back into Storelancer so incoming events can be verified.

Webhook events to select

  • checkout.session.completed
  • checkout.session.async_payment_succeeded
  • checkout.session.async_payment_failed
  • checkout.session.expired
  • charge.refunded
  • charge.dispute.created
  • payment_intent.payment_failed
Use test-mode keys while you try things out. Orders paid in test mode are marked as test orders.

Orders are only marked paid after Storelancer confirms the payment with Stripe — a browser redirect alone never marks an order as paid.
